Every morning at 7AM, we put on a hot pot of coffee for our customers. Even though the sign says we don’t open until 7:30, Ascension Parish locals know that we all gather around The Cooking Shack in our store at 7 AM to start the day. Come on by. We’ll have some coffee waiting for you.

We can take care of copying any keys that you need. Just stop by and we will have them ready in a flash.

Refill: Unlike most companies, we do not make you purchase an entirely new tank when your propane tank is low. We measure what’s left in your tank, refill it for you and only charge you for the amount that we actually put in.

Recertification: Another service that we are well known for providing at Galvez Hardware is that we can Recertify your used propane tank for an additional 10 years. Did you know that when you purchase a new propane tank that it is only good (guaranteed safe) for 12 years? After that, you have to have your used propane tanks recertified or replaced. When you bring your old propane tanks to us, we can recertify them for a fraction (1/4th) of what it would cost you to purchase a brand new tank. After we recertify your tank, it will be good for another 10 years.

When you are working on any project, sometimes you just need to sit down and take a break. Bring your plans and come sit in our Cooking Shack cafe (yes, it’s in our hardware store). You can relax at the table, spread out your plans, ask questions and keep your project on track. Bonus, we also have cold water and hot coffee to help you recharge.
